Chapter 4 Part 22

"We're in trouble," Norwind said after Keeneye had informed them of the loss of their guiding breeze.

"Are you trying to tell me that we are lost?" Samson was not in a good mood.

"Now, I didn't say that exactly," Keeneye said defensively.

"Say what you mean then," Ultrecht urged.

"Well, we know where we are, but we no longer have a guide as to where we are going."

"What do you suggest then?" Ultrecht asked as he sat on a fallen timber.

"Our best chance is to keep going in the same direction unless we see signs that indicate no airflow."

"Such as?" Norwind inquired.

"Undisturbed dust, huge cobwebs that should not be able to withstand a good breeze and anything like that."

"And the others?" Samson was understandably worried. His wife was with the other group.

"Don't worry about them," Keeneye laughed. "I pity anyone who attacks Armegon, especially if the others are there to help him."

"They are probably safer than we are and I'm sure Avery can find his way out of these caverns," Ultrecht assured them.

"Well then, lets get going," Keeneye said at last. "I would like to be sitting at the exit of this cursed mine waiting on them when they get there."
